High School Credit Program
(HSCP)
ITA Grade KG – Grade 6:
Foundational Tamil learning is provided from Kindergarten through Grade 6. Students build core language skills, including reading, writing, and basic comprehension.
ITA Grade 7
Students continue to advance their language proficiency, preparing for the transition into the High School Credit Program (HSCP) levels.
ITA Grade 8
Students in Grade 8 focus on mastering advanced grammar and improving their proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Tamil. They engage with higher-level texts and develop analytical skills through discussions and written assignments. Graduates of this level are prepared to transition directly into HSCP Tamil 2 or take an evaluation test for advanced placement.
HSCP Tamil 1:
Open to students in Grade 7 or above in public school. This is the entry-level for high school credit, where students deepen their understanding of Tamil grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills.
HSCP Tamil 2:
Open to students in Grade 8 or above in public school. ITA Grade 8 graduates can also enroll directly in this level. This stage covers more advanced reading, writing, and interpretation skills, building on the foundation of HSCP Tamil 1.
HSCP Tamil 3:
Further advanced level for students who have completed HSCP Tamil 2. The curriculum emphasizes fluency in Tamil, including literature analysis and complex conversational skills.
HSCP Tamil 4:
The final level in the program, where students demonstrate mastery of the Tamil language. Completing this level equips students with high proficiency, enabling them to use Tamil in academic and cultural contexts.
